FAQs
A: Not Really - the Head Liner is more than just a Skull Cap.
Skull Caps are designed to keep your hair in place or to make a fashion statement,
and while the CrownWear Head Liner does both very well, it also does so much more.
The Head Liner uses our revolutionary Filtration TechnologyTM to trap dirt, salt & oil.
This helps the Head Liner to maximize comfort by keeping you cool and keeping sweat out of your eyes,
ans it also allows the Head Liner to keep your headgear looking, feeling and smelling newer longer
by preventing stains, odors and premature wear.
Return to Top A: Absolutely. The Head Liner is designed to be fully machine washable. We recommend that you wash it
with like colors in warm water (not hot), and tumble dry it on low heat (not high). Of course,
you CAN wash it in hot water, and dry it on high heat, but this will shorten the life of your Head Liner.
Many of our customers report that they simply soak it with clean water, wring it out, and let it air dry
(which saves time, water and detergent).
Return to Top A: The Head Liner is designed to be worn beneath any type of headgear - or even by itself. The way you put
it on depends on what you wear it with. If you are going to wear your Head Liner with a hat, cap or stetson:
we recommend that you place the Head Liner into the hat so that the edge of the Head Liners lines up with
the rim of the hat. If you are going to wear it with a helmet, hard hat or beanie: we recommend that you
place the Head Liner on your head with the front pulled down to just above your brow line (to keep sweat
out of your eyes), and then place your headgear on your head.

A: For the most part, the size of your Head Liner depends on your hat size, according to the chart on the right.
However, most of our customers who regularly wear their Head Liner beneath a beanie report
that they prefer a smaller Head Liner. If that sounds like you, then just get one size smaller than the chart
would indicate for your hat size.
Return to Top A: Hat sizes are actually a measure of the diameter of your head. To figure that out, you can measure the
circumference of your head with a piece of string (or a sewing tape measure) and divide by PI (3.14). Or you
can enter the circumference of you head into our hat size calculator which will tell you both your hat size
and your Head Liner size.
Return to Top A: The Head Liner uses our proprietary Filtration TechnologyTM (patent pending) to trap dirt, salt and oil, as well as absorb
and hold onto sweat, all while maintaining breathability to keep you cool. We use natural fibers like cotton
and silk to maintain softness and breathability, while taking advantage of special methods of weaving fabric
maximize surface area, this providing the necessary filtration. It all comes down to balance: you can easily
make a single layer of thin cotton breathable, but it won't absorb sweat or trap dirt, salt and oil; and you
can easily make an impermeable liner that will block every drop of sweat, dirt, salt and oil, but it won't be
breathable. It took us years of testing and over 5 gallons of human sweat to find the perfect balance between
comfort and protection, and now we want to share that technology with you.
